Spontaneous pneumothorax can be divided into two categories: primary and secondary. The management of each one depends on resource availability, physician preference, procedural capability, is broadly based guidelines that are over a decade old. Emerging evidence from three recent randomized controlled trials ambulatory pathways exciting herald new era for spontaneous pneumothorax. These their implications discussed.
